Agenda
Upcoming Events
6:30 PM – 8:30 PM
Tri Delta will be hosting a sand volleyball tournament to raise money for St. Jude
7:30 PM – 9:30 PM
Just after midnight, a snowdrift stops the Orient Express in its tracks. The luxurious train is surprisingly full for the time of year, but by morning, it has one fewer passenger. An American tycoon lies dead in his compartment, stabbed eight times, his door locked from the inside. Isolated and with a killer in their midst, the passengers rely on detective Hercule Poirot to identify the murderer – in case he or she decides to strike again.
7:30 PM – 10:30 PM
Explore Your Palette is a night all about finding what feels most you.
Move through a collection of interactive experiences designed to help you learn more about your personal style, preferences, and personality. Find the colors that complement you best with a personal color analysis, then create a custom color card using paint chips in your palette. Take a personality assessment, blend your own essential oil pillow spray, and make a candle using eclectic dishes and dried flowers.
You can also explore your taste palette with a guided wine experience led by a sommelier, complete with fine chocolates to pair or enjoy on their own.
We’re adding even more experiences as the night comes together (and they are SUPER FUN stations, too).
Come curious. Leave with new favorites, a few things you made yourself, and a better sense of what looks, feels, smells, and tastes like you. Promise -- you won't want to miss this!
7:30 PM – 11:45 PM
For more of a low-key evening, grab your favorite board game from the selection in the living room (or plan ahead and bring your own) and call it a family game night!
7:30 PM – 11:55 PM
Hosted by Vice President and Dean of Students Erik Hayes, parents and students can enjoy a fun night with a chance to win great prizes in this 22nd annual Texas Hold'em no-limit Tournament. Refreshments will be provided.
8:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Public open house at the Oakley Observatory. If the weather is clear, then the telescopes will be set up to view a variety of astronomical objects in the night sky. Appropriate for all ages. Limited parking is available at the Observatory/Lynn Reeder Lab. Additional parking is available at the commuter parking lot. Access to the telescope requires walking up and down two flights of open-air stairs. If the weather isn't ideal, the "rain date" will be Saturday.
8:00 AM – 9:30 AM
While there’s no formal agenda, we’ve heard from parents that they’d love more opportunities to connect with one another. So, come grab a coffee on us, meet other Rose-Hulman parents and a few key staff members, and stay as long—or as little—as you’d like. Come and go as you please!
9:00 AM – 10:30 AM
Come join RHA (Residence Hall Association) on a walk or run through the Rose-Hulman farm across the street. A great way to see the property at the most beautiful time of year! You must park on the main campus and use the crosswalk at the stoplight to check in at the small lot across the street.
Please note: the path may be challenging for some strollers, wagons, or wheelchairs.
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

The 1 p.m. exhibition game between the Sycamores and Engineers will benefit the fight against Friedreich's Ataxia (FA), a degenerative neuro-muscular disorder that affects one in 50,000 people in the United States.
"Playing Rose-Hulman in our CureFA game is about much more than baseball," Archuleta said. "It gives us a great opportunity to bring two outstanding local programs together and, most importantly, get our incredible community involved in a cause that means so much to our family and so many others affected by Friedreich's Ataxia. We're excited to have Rose-Hulman be a part of this event and to bring our fans, families, alumni and the entire Wabash Valley community together to raise awareness and support the search for a cure. It's going to be a great day at Bob Warn Field, and we're proud to be able to use our game to make a difference."
The Friedreich's's Ataxia Research Alliance is supporting research that will improve the quality and length of life for those diagnosed with FA and will lead to treatments that eliminate its symptoms. More information about FA can be found at CureFA.org.
Coach Archuleta's son, Sam, is living with this disorder which provides the origin of the game and gives the charitable organization a personal connection to Coach Archuleta and the Sycamores.
The annual game highlights a fall slate which will see the Sycamores in competition four times against opposing teams, while also holding their annual Fall World Series classic.
Tickets for the CUREFA game go on sale on September 18 at the Indiana State ticket office. Fans will also be able to purchase tickets online at GoSycamores.com. The ticket prices are $20 for chairback seats, $10 for general admission. For more information on tickets, contact Manager of Ticket Sales & Service Mason LaGrange at 812-237-8972 or via email at Mason.LaGrange@indstate.edu.
