Parent and Family Orientation is scheduled to take place starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 26 and will conclude at approximately 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 27. You will enjoy two days on campus getting to know faculty and staff, meeting other parents, and spending some time with your student before they begin their Rose-Hulman career!

Purchase Rose-Hulman apparel, school supplies, decorations for your residence hall room, and books. The Bookstore is located on the lower level of the Mussallem Union.
8:45 AM – 9:30 AM
Vice President and Dean of Students, Mr. Erik Hayes, and Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Rick Stamper, will provide an overview of the support your student will receive at Rose-Hulman. Time will be allotted for Dean Hayes and Dr. Stamper to take questions from the audience.

9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Starting college can by an exciting new adventure and staying healthy is the key to your success. Stop by the Office of Health Services to meet our healthcare team. The office is staffed by a nurse practitioner, nurses, and support staff, and operates just like a regular doctor's office. During Orientation, you will be able to get required vaccines, submit health related forms, and ask general questions about our services to help you stay healthy during the school year.

Staff will be on hand to answer any questions that you have about financial aid.

Representatives from offices and programs across campus will be available to meet you, distribute information, and answer questions about the support services they provide. Check back later this summer for a list of all participating offices and services.
10:30 AM – 1:30 PM
We are offering two ways to enjoy lunch with your guests. We have a "grab and go" for those who prefer a quicker option and a smaller crowd. Pick a place on campus (inside or outside) to enjoy a boxed lunch with your family! Those who are looking for a traditional dining hall experience can select the option to visit the Vonderschmitt Cafe where you can enjoy a sampling of student favorites.
New students must register for a free student ticket, but don't forget to add tickets for your family!
2:00 PM – 2:30 PM
President Robert Coons will deliver welcoming remarks to the new students and their families. The Class of 2026 and their families will officially become members of the Rose-Hulman Family.
2:30 PM – 3:00 PM
Immediately following the New Student Convocation, say goodbye to your student, and watch proudly as your student processes up the hill to begin their Rose-Hulman Career.

WELCOME, WELCOME, WELCOME! Campus is officially open to welcome new students and families. When you arrive on campus, you and your student will be greeted by staff who will help you navigate traffic and get you where you need to be. Resident Assistants and Sophomore Advisors (as well as a few VIP’s) will assist you and your student in unpacking the car and moving items to assigned residence hall rooms. Let the fun begin!

Stop by the SCC's information table to learn about the types of counseling services that are available to students. Staff will also be available in the Student Counseling Center to answer your questions. The SCC is located in the Mussallem Union (Room 245).

Tours of campus will be given by upper-class students. A tour will depart every fifteen minutes beginning at 2 p.m.

Tours of the SRC will be given by staff members. Learn about the facilities, wellness program, intramural program, and sports clubs. A tour will depart from the information desk every 15 minutes beginning at 2 p.m.

The legacy event is open to all new students that have a parent, grandparent, sibling, aunt, or uncle that graduated from Rose-Hulman. Stop by and pick up your special swag bag and snap a family photo. A gift will be available for alumni family members too!
5:00 PM – 6:30 PM
While your student enjoys their first "Floor Dinner" with their new friends, grab dinner at one of Terre Haute's many restaurants. Be sure to save room for the Parent and Family Meet and Greet Reception at 6:30 p.m.!
A QR code with a list of local options will be available at the information table located in the Union.

Come meet other new parents and families while enjoying drinks and refreshments.

Year after year, this is one of the favorite events of Orientation! Relax and have fun playing Bingo for great Rose-Hulman prizes. Light refreshments will also be served. (Kids are welcome to play!)
